Just came back from our photo shoot

September 29, 2007 By: Chris Category: The Neighborhood, Toronto No Comments →

We just got in the door and the pictures went great! We were worried that the pics that we got were horrific but it turned out they were just fine.

While we waited for our pics to develop, we had a light refreshing beverage at a bar called “Gabby’s” on The Danforth. I don’t know if you have one in your neighbourhood, but ours is great. The beers are reasonably priced and the tar benders, I mean bartenders are a laugh a minute!

Just thought I’d write about.

Getting a new Canadian Passport

September 25, 2007 By: Chris Category: Home and Lifestyle, Recreation, Vacation and Travel No Comments →

Well my day is doing well thank you for asking!

It’s a great day to be outside in a backyard. I came back in a couple of minutes ago, had a shower and we are getting ready to get our pictures taken for our passports. We are thinking about going to Las Vegas for the Blogworld and Payperpost conventions November 8-10, 2007.

My Passport expired a couple of years ago and Tricia’s has been expired for many years now. We just found out that we have to get a brand new one because well, that’s how it is.

I contacted my old friend and criminal lawyer in downtown Toronto David Gomes, and he setting up an appointment with us to come in and have him do his thing to help us obtain a new passport.

So wish us luck and Keep on Jammin’

The show at the hospital

Well I just got back from a talent show where I work and I had a blast.

I decided to enter it a couple of days ago with a guy from work. We pass each other in the hallways daily and have always talked about getting together and jammin’ over the years. So here was our chance!

We jammed at work 2 times for around 20 minutes and once this past Sunday for about an hour. He is in the process of unpacking belongings into his new house and we all know how much fun that can be, so that’s all the time we had. We went over Late In The Evening and IF we had an encore, it was Come on and Dance by Steve Miller.

There were 6 acts and they were quite memorable.

First we had a Karaoke performance, then a little Jamaican women in traditional clothes who recited a religious poem. That was followed by a dance sorta group and a women who played Ava Maria on the saw, yes you read it right a saw! She really nailed it I have to admit. No pun intended. After that we played! Below is what we played, enjoy.

It went off without a hitch, but there were no monitors so we just had to hope for the best. The vocals were the only thing that I could hear and the guitars were too low. When I did the solo I turned it up a bit and it sounded nice. The only other draw back was that Sean, the other guy I played with, was too far away from the mike for it to pick up his guitar, otherwise it was just for a laugh. We came in second and went away with some neat little prizes.

The winner was the lady on the “saw”, it took guts and skill to go up there and play that thing and in my mind she deserved it. So hats off to Angela and her singing saw!

sE Electronics GM10

I tend not to judge a book by it’s cover but this looks a little how can I say, unique for my liken.

Has anyone ever seen a miking system like this before? it looks way too cumbersome to play with and I would be afraid to be bumping into my singing mike or another member of the band. I realize technology never stays the same and that we should welcome evolution of instruments but …

I can’t find it in Canada so can someone please enlighten us about this mike?

A Hockey Series that wasn’t so Super

September 10, 2007 By: Chris Category: Recreation, Sports No Comments →

Well we won. What else can we say.

It was billed here in Canada as a follow up to the historic 1972 Canada Cup, but it was not even close. Out of a 8 game series we won 7 and tied 1. Four games were played in Russia having to travel through multiple cities and stadiums and four in Canada.

I watched the whole series at home and loved every minute of it. I just wished that I put the last game that was held in Vancouver B.C. on September 9th on a DVD to send to my brother and his sons in Chicago. The game was a clinic on how to play hockey, pure and simple!

So let’s here it for our boys on blades!
